  1. Ondsel is now defunct, but you can apperantly get the UI into freecad with a bit of ingenuity. there are writeups and tutorials that aren't hard to follow. I'm in the process of doing so now.

  2. Hi, I'm starting out brand new. I never did CAD a day in my life and it peaked my interest. After so much research, I cannot afford much so I was looking for the best free CAD out there. I know this video is a year old, but after doing research, Ondsel, no longer exists and the some of the people at Ondsel, I believe are now involved with FreeCAD. FreeCAD is now at version 1.0.1. I downloaded, but before I invest my time into this, would it be possible to do a new updated review video for the the new FreedCAD release and would you be able to do another Best Free CAD video for mid-2025. I wanted your opinion for FreeCAD 1.0.1 as well. Thank you so much for doing these videos. 🙂

  3. Fusion 360 is NOT free!!! It's a trial version only that limits 10x saves and beyond that YOU PAY!!!
And this is a pity because I've been hearing/reading that once you sign up for one of their abhorrent price structures, it's EXTREMELY hard to cancel / remove your account. They lock you in.
For what you have shown me here, I'm going to check out Ondsel ES.

  4. Is the Fusion360 personal use plan good enough for most personal 3d print designs? I seen a video of you from 4 years ago. Is that video still up to date?

  5. So which one do i use. I'm trying to start up a business of 3d printing but also just want to make useful stuff for myself. I can't wrap my head around blender i really don't know which one to pick 😂

  6. And you skipped FreeCAD why??? Yeah, it has a steep learning curve, but the MangoJelly channel fixes that. It's top of the line FOSS CAD software, it's better than AutoCAD by leaps and bounds, and I think you're doing everyone a real disservice by not even including it in the list.

  7. Great video, but I will disagree with the comments on Blender3d. Blender has supported 3d Printing since the early 2000's. If you know how to use it, then it is fully capable of very precise measurements etc.

Blender's biggest challenge to noobs is the almost vertical learning curve as it is far from what many call "intuitive".

I have been using Blender since 1999, never use it in single screen as the screens can be split. I use a 3x screen split, each screen set to one of the axis so that as I manipulate the model I can see instantly what it looks like in every axis/facet.

Having said all that, I now have more things to experiment with as far as new software.

  8. Ondsel has not made any changes to the UI either you are just using freeCAD, I have been a FreeCAD user for a while now, Its completely same to what you are using, absolutely no difference. So you know how to use FreeCAD, it's as simple as you see right now.

  9. You complly underrated FreeCAD. everything you shot in the modified version is in the actual original version. I saw nothing that isn't already built into FreeCAD.

  10. I was about to throw blender away, even tho I'm pretty advanced with it. Thanks for pointing out cad sketcher!! Awesome addon, works really good :). Love the non destructive work.
