  1. I went with unifi, they are stepping up their game and still making better improvements every month for the no subscription and license included. I ditched my Cisco ASA because of their licensing years ago. But I also have a PfSense, not as user friendly and the licensing seems to be changing.

  2. The best protection to use is the one you'll use and use PROPERLY. I love the UDM-Pro but I needed multi-WAN before Ubiquiti had it available on my First-Gen UDM, so I have a similar unit to the ProtectLi miniPC. All solid state, 4 x 2.5Gbit Intel Server NICs, OPNSense. Best router I've ever owned and fast as heck.

  3. Borderware. Proprietary rack hardware, solid solutions running on hardened BSD kernel, annual subscription. If you're hosting your own voip, email, and other web services, these systems are worth your efforts review. Not cheap, then again ..neither is the clean-up of a breach and the beating your reputation will take.
